::This Ghishing Restaurant I will always remember for the delicious Bhutani Recipes , hospitality and Bhutanese manners. The tastiest Bhutanese cuisine cooked and served here by a lady is like a pleasant welcome to Bhutan. In the last week of March, after completion of formalities and getting visitors permit we entered Bhutan in the evening at Phuentsholing. Immediately we started our journey, when it was dark we stopped at place called Gedu. Searched for accommodation, checked in in a hostel. There was no food there, so we were searching for hotel , it was dark and all shops closed. At one place we found one door open and a tiny board by the door, hardly 1.5 X 1.5 feet. This was a "Ghishing Restaurant". A smiling lady in her early fifties welcomed us and gave us warm water to drink because it was very cold . She greeted us very courteously and asked us what would you like to have. We asked her what do you have to eat and with smile she replied whatever you want. Amused we ordered Roties, some thing veg and if she has eggs some omelets too. Within half an hour the food was served and OMG they were so delicious Bhutanese recipes. Freshly cooked and hot and served with Bhutanese style. When they offer you something with their right hand and with left arm touching to their right hand near elbow and bending forward slightly showing respect. Please forgive me for I don't remember the names of those dishes, all Bhutanese names. But one thing sure I remember is the Bhutani Tea that we finally had. It is served hot without sugar, namkeen, with melted cheese / butter. It is just grand and she makes it perfectly. If not for anything just go here for Bhutani Tea. Actually four of us all senior citizens had travelled from Bengaluru to Nepal then Sikkim and now Bhutan by SUV had't had such beautiful satisfying food for a month. We repeated our orders and she immediately served without delay, continuously watching us preparing Roties and predicting what we may need next. This tiny restaurant with just two tables will hardly accommodate 8 peoples. But you come out with full satisfaction. The prices were so reasonable & low that I asked twice if she has forgotten to add something in the final bill. After paying the bill we asked to keep the change and she was so shy that she refused. The quality was more than value for money. She is the owner, the cook cum everything. Her school going children help her in daytime after school and homework. This is a home made food as if we are her family. The taste that comes with caring and loving hands is what you get here. She really knows cooking and loves it. Needless to say next morning we took heavy breakfast here at Ghishing Restaurant and on our return Journey when getting out of Bhutan we had Lunch here. Dear travelers I found this place by coincidence, I didn't get anything free here, I was never here before, I will be never here again but I will remember this Ghishing Restaurant for ever. I am adding this restaurant to Google Maps just in case if you are passing by ...... After coming out of the restaurant last time I again went in and asked for her permission if I can take photos and her name telling her that I will try to add her restaurant to Google Maps, which she hardly understood but she allowed me . Her name is Krishna Kumary. Happy Journey and Good Day ...
