The camp is located on the banks of jigmechu river. It is roughly about 47kms from Jumja (gedu) and took us about 6hrs from Thimphu. Most of the road was blacktopped with few stretches of rough road and lots of potential lanslide areas. The stretch form jumja till past tala was foggy since it rained that day. The campground is a community run. It has has lights, a plug point, and a toilet cum bathroom with running water 24x7. You can either bring your own tents and pitch it at a minimal fees or you can choose to avail their package deals, which is inclusive of a tent (already pitched), campfire, breakfast and dinner at Nu.700/ per person. You also have the option to order lunch from them at Nu. 150/ per person. Our family choose to opt for the package deal since we were travelling with kids. The meals were very basic but tasty. The breakfast included fried rice with ezay and tea, while dinner was rice with a meat curry. The first night they provided chicken curry and the second night was beef cooked with potatoes, both of which were very tasty. The community running the facility were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. You can go in for a short easy dayhike to visit beautiful limestone caves believed to be the abode of local dieties. The hike takes you through a beautuful suspension bridge, and fields of arecanut trees and along the river banks. Make sure you have your sunscreens and sun hats on. You can also drive to lhamoizingkha which is just about 18 kms away form there. On the drive you will be greeted with naturally firmed colorful mounds that will take your breathe away. Tips: if you decide to go, make sure you take your own blankets and pillows or sleeping bags. Dry months will be the best time to visit .
