  Unassuming Exterior, but Delightful Rooms and Public Areas Located on a side street off the main roadway of Thimphu, the Namgay Heritage Hotel might be easy to miss, but it definitely worth a few nights’ stay if you’re in Thimphu, Bhutan. Lobby and check-in process. The staff members at the front desk are friendly, professional, and welcoming. The check-in process is quite efficient. The front desk itself is made of beautifully carved wood with hand-painted details. The lobby sofas are a bit dated, but comfortable, and the lobby has the strongest wifi signal in the hotel. The central atrium features beautiful, hand-carved railings and supports all the way to the top floor. Hotel Rooms. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, and adequate wi-fi coverage. The design is simple and reflects the overall “feel” of the hotel, although the bedrooms and bathrooms could use updating. If possible, reserve a corner rooms since they have an extra room with a desk and sitting area. The bathrooms have both a tub and a shower, with plenty of hot water. The shower stalls are a bit small, and the drain is small (so don’t turn on the water pressure full-force). Food and Beverages. Breakfast is included in most room rates, and the buffet selection is quite good. If you wish to have eggs, there is a separate station with one chef, so place your egg order first before you go to the buffet, particularly if there are a number of other guests who are ordering eggs. Overall. The Namgay Heritage Hotel is quite nice for the price, with a warm and hospitable staff. While there are other, higher-end hotels in Thimphu, I’d considering staying at the Namgay Heritage again were I in Thimphu.
