  Starting from entrance road the services, room doesn’t have a basic needs. More over we cannot roam outside in the night because there is huge furious dog roaming outside and chase everyone coming across.

  Terrible rooms with very thin mattress, lots of mosquitoes and other insects. Most of the stuff are dirty and seems not washed properly. Showers and geysers are broken. Worst of all, they have a huge dog which bites - so you can't stay out late and return late to your room, unless you want to get bitten. And the old guy (manager) is rude and does not know customer service. If you stay in this hotel, you are not a customer, the old guy/manager is doing you a favor by allowing you to stay in his hotel.

  During my stay in Bhumtang (which is known as the Switzerland of Bhutan) I stayed at this really authentic yet modern resort- River Lodge. Located at a height from where the entire scenic view of Bhumtang is visible, the stay was an absolute delight. The extremely caring owner made sure that we had a great breakfast with organic apples right from his own farm. The staff was very warm and friendly, they also made sure that we were kept warm throughout in the -10 degrees freezing temperature. The market was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the town is most happening during the evenings. All in all it was a beautiful stay at a beautiful location and I would highly recommend to everyone visiting Bhumtang!

  Serene and amidst nature. Great view to a football ground and flowing river. Insulated rooms and carpetted flooring. Animal friendly.

  River Lodge in Bumthang has a cozy rooms and friendly staffs. Delicious food, library, hot stone bath, spa and Massages are also available. It is located in a walkable distance from the town. Picture with the Bollywood Celebrity Ms Shreya Ghoshal at River River Lodge Courtyard with their staffs.
