::It was a thrilling experience walking right upto the tigers nest and coming back without a horse. Take a stick to aid walking during return - it helps. Available at rent - I paid 100 rs. Was told it is now illegal to rent. But the vendors do it anyway. Through out the trail it was scenic all the way. Stopped at the cafe to have a good sip of tea and view of monastery is breathtaking from the viewing podium. Walking with natural pace helped and the whole journey with about 15 mins break at cafe and 40 mins at the monastery was about 7 hrs - start at 8am and return by 3pm. Little warm clothing helps. Must visit.

::Taktsang or Tiger Nest Monastry , Paro is having a very important place in the spread of Buddhism in Bhutan . Situated at 10,000 ft the beauty of this place is breathtaking . However , trekking to this place statrs from 7000 ft and then you climb 3000 ft very steep climb. Persons having physical ailments and breathing trouble should avoid this treak . No , medical facility and no drinking water in the treak route may give you trouble . Please don't start the treak without taking a walking stick from the starting point available for Nu 50/- on hire . But the shere beauty of this monastery and how it was built on a mountain cliff is mesmerizing .

::Ticket window opens at 7:30am Very clean washroom amenities @20₹ Walking stick available at 50₹ There’s a small market here for souvenirs, looks pretty but why buy from here, try the city shops. The starting point has ample parking and this place is 2km from the main highway. One can walk to or from this point to the highway in about 20 minutes, and there are some beautiful apple orchids enroute open for plucking!

::A bit chaotic. Not so well organised. Smells of pony dropping. For a popular spot like Tiger’s Nest, they could have done a better job. Proper car park could have been made. But people are friendly and helpful.
