  contd...In response to the reply given by the owner: It would be better if you focus on your hospitality rather than twisting our words and justifying your actions. Original review: We came as walk-in customers. The owner came after a while because we hadn't booked in advance. We tried to ask for some concession in the tariff and food charges (which we felt were overpriced), which would be agreeable to both parties. We reached a figure agreed by both of us. Now, these people gave us subsistent service (no idea why but the local sentiments that we felt were, that we being compared to whites and how they pay much more in dollars - why should we be compared to them?) If they were not comfortable with the price, they should have refused us rather than treating us rudely and giving such subsistent service. Now, we were the only guests during our stay and they did not give us breakfast properly. One night's dinner was good. However, we cancelled our next breakfast and dinner because we felt hostility from the owners, restauranteurs at the lodge. In fact, we were not given proper room service as well. Everybody at the lodge were rude and disrespectful we feel. Honestly, our family's experience at Haa was ruined because of this. In general, we felt that people were only greedy for money than treating their customers right or even with warmth (especially towards Indians). Not only at this lodge, but even in different places in Bhutan people were rude to us because we were Indians. Locals have even made comments regarding that. I would suggest Indians to mind these things while visiting Bhutan. Seems like ours is the only review like that. I wonder why. The rooms were beautiful, the lodge was really cool, the place was really good, but this treatment was really disheartening.

  A very well done Heritage House with all modern amenities and rooms. Well appointed and very comfortable rooms. Traditional food and services. Well mannered and efficient staff. Excellent rooms, excellent food and excellent service.

  The hotel is tucked away in a village closer to Damthang. The building is a traditional home with well maintained grounds. I will share pictures. Meanwhile here is a breakdown of my experience at the hotel. Reservations: i stumbled upon the property when scrolling through the yeegetaway fb page. I looked for their phone number and spoke with the owner to make reservations. He was very polite and quick to respond and rooms were booked immediately. Check in: check in was also equally smooth and fast. We learned that one of our rooms was upgraded. Rooms: The rooms were small but comes with beautiful bhutanese decor, fluffy pillows, comfy matresses, and western toilet complete with shower and all the bathroom amneties. Our room also had a small sitting area by the window that overlooked the gardens outside. Lobby and hallways The lobby/reception area is fully carpeted with beautiful and elaborate carpets. In the center, there was a huge wood stove giving it a warm homey feels. We were offered tea on arrival, which felt very welcoming.The hallways leading upto the rooms were also adorned with beautiful carpets. Hot stone bath The bath area is beside a medium sized stream. Its right across the hotel, about 3 mins walk. The wooden bath tubs are huge enough to fit two people and you have the option to open the curtains and watch the stream as you soak in the warm water. Food We had dinner and breakfast here. We had a delicious spread of datshi mango, spinach datshi, roasted potatoes, and dal for dinner. There was no menu as such. The breakfast was delicious complete with suja and ezay. Price and services The rooms, food, and the hotstone bath were reasonably priced. The staff were polite and helpful. This is a family friendly property. I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway.

  This place is the perfect harmony of a traditional Bhutanese homestay with modern amenities. I would strongly recommend it for both locals and foreigners who are looking to get away from the din of urban life. Take a break from life in the fast lane and enjoy a moment's stay (no matter how brief) in it's pristine and peaceful countryside setting.

  Amazing place and setting. Get an experience of rural bhutan, unlike staying in a standard resort or hotel. And they have a river nearby. Sitting there and doing nothing is an experience by itself. Make sure u go and have tea by/on the river (rocks or the bridge) in the morning. It is surreal. The hot stone bath is a unique experience. And the hotel staff are extremely helpful and nice. Food is good. They make what you ask for too.
